Plants
Plants – that’s what most of this dream was about. Strange fantasy plants that I could use in my book for sure.
I can’t remember the beginning of these dreams, but I’ll start off where I can remember.
Someone had found a strange plant that produces a type of mutating pollen. When this pollen touches other plants, it causes them to grow 10x faster and larger than normal. This had gotten out, and suddenly there were giant plants everywhere. Tomatoes the size of a beach ball with vines as thick as a mans forearm. Giant trees would sprout in minutes, tearing through buildings and roads, wreaking havoc. The entire world ground to a halt as the plants seemed to reclaim what is rightfully theirs.
But something else happened too. The pollen mutated more, and humans began to be affected too. Humanoid plants would grow right out the side of a pine tree, or another would grow grass atop her head instead of hair. Some of these became carnivorous, and snatch unsuspecting victims from a hiking trail or bike path, and slowly consume them as they screamed hours on end in agony.
The world had changed, and dangerously at that. The world no longer revolved around humans, but instead around the plants that had now taken over. There were wars fought, humans against an entire forest or weed patch. In the end, the plants always won, and soon mankind learned to live as one with the green of the world.
I’m standing on a grassy hill overlooking a lush green valley, what was once called Albuquerque, in the high desert of New Mexico. The Rio Grande sparkles as it takes its course down towards the Gulf of Mexico. A small jet of some sort is circling what used to be the ABQ airport, and its getting lower as it tries to find a place to land. I shake my head no and yell at the top of my lungs to be careful. But I knew it would not matter… The forest would have its blood. As I finished the thought, a giant vine shot out of the heart of the forest and grabbed the jet out of the air like a lizard would a small bug. A small crunching was heard this far away as the metal was torn apart and its contents consumed.
Now I’m walking through the forest towards my home, careful where I’m stepping. I was watching the ground when a small vine suddenly grabbed my wrist, while another vine, tipped with a razor sharp edge, cut my upper arm open. Before I can yell in pain, the Eye plant inserts two lemon sized eyeballs underneath my skin and then let’s me go.
I frantically tear the wound open further to get the eyeball seeds out of my arm. I knew if they were left there I would take root right here as I became an Eye tree. I manage to get the seeds out of my arm and chuck them back into the forest. The seeds could not grow without human blood, as that is the tree’s origin. The Eye tree is exactly what it sounds like, a large tree with Eyes the size of lemons as its fruit. Thousands of eyes as its seeds, but it could use them to see as well. Nothing passed its notice.
The Eye tree seemed to be shaking now out of mirth at my demise and now bleeding arm. I hastily run away from this tree towards home….
Awake
German Nose bleed
This was another quite odd dream.
In the first scene I’m sitting in front of my computer. It appears though that I’ve contracted some virus, and it was annoying since it covered up rectangular sections of my screen with a blur effect, making it difficult to do anything.

I’m on a train. It’s a very large train with big windows. I seem to have just boarded and I thought I could see some friends that were with me but I couldn’t quite make out who they were. Outside I could see vast valleys carving their way among enormous peaks of mountains thousands of feet high. I knew that this was Southern Germany, near the Swiss Alps.
I’ve been here before, I just don’t remember there being a train. (image is from my flickr account, click to view the rest)
This train was obviously new, and I had no idea where it was going. It was top of the line and had some nifty technological advances. I was walking towards the rear of the car I was in, when the train suddenly lurched forward as it began to move, and I went headlong into some shiny wood paneling. The pain felt very real, and as my vision returned to normal, a friend pointed out that there was blood on my shirt, and more where it came from.
I sat down on a bench and tilted my head up to try and stop the bleeding from my nose (In real life I would have pinched the top of my nose to stop the bleeding).
Then I heard a beautiful German voice, music to my ears (I am originally German so I can understand pretty much understand everything that is said). She was a tall blonde, with some nice form fitting futuristic garment on with a very low V, and with a small nameplate above her left breast. I wish I could remember that name but I think I was too distracted. She seemed to be some stewardess of some sort of the train. She sat down next to me and told me to relax, then she looked toward another stewardess and told her to get a medical kit. I told her it really wasn’t necessary and she seemed shocked by the fact I had said it in German.
“Ich hab gedacht das du ein Amerikaner ist!” “I thought that you were an American!”
I chuckled and told her that technically I was, and she was about to respond when the other lady came with the medical kit. She took out a nice rag from within the kit and wiped my mouth and nose clean, all the while I’m staring at her eyes. At this point some things begin to nag me as my old military training senses came alive.
- She was beautiful yes, but she looked like she came out of a model magazine and this would hardly be the fitting job for her.
- She kept leaning treacherously low to attend to me and was in danger of having everything fall out of her top. She could have just moved closer to me.
- I kept catching glimpses of the medical kit and I thought I could see some questionable items in there. Hypodermic needles? Vials with no labels. This kit had much to be answered for.
- This all felt like a ruse but her tip top figure kept distracting me.
- And finally, her eyes. She had a kind face and smile, but her eyes told me volumes about her real character. She was a bad woman and she knew she could get what she wanted. She was deceptive and cruel.
Just as I was about to gently push her away, her face crumpled in anger and she shoved me against the wall, hard. This lithe young she-bitch couldn’t have weighed more than a rack of ribs ( I think thats where all her weight was anyway) but she had some sort of kung fu strength that was unparalled by my 6′6″ 300lb frame and I couldn’t budge. Then she took out a cotton swab of all things. I could barely see that the tip was soaked in some weird blue liquid before she stuck it up my nose. On my next breath, I began to feel dizzy and the heady scent took over me. She let go of her grip as everything began to fade to black and I remember leaning forward trying to kiss her and then nothing.

I wake up and I’m staring at a bowl of soup. It was dark in here so my eyes adjusted quickly. Matter of fact the only source of light was from candles around the room. The room. A quick look told me that this room was 16th century, and that I was in a castle, by the depth of the wall at the window. Old paintings and guilded furnishings adorned this lovely chamber, and a very faded mural on the concave ceiling had cherubs smiling down at me. Polished silver overpopulated the table, all filled with food and ale. An enourmous chunk of freshly baked bread steamed next to my silver bowl of what looked like some beef stew. So I’m either still in Germany or I’m somewhere in Switzerland. But then it was confirmed when I heard others speaking German.
At the head of the table sat a black haired woman with a very stern face with a sly smirk on her face speaking to the same lady that had attacked me on the train. They were deep in conversation. I quickly took a look at my arsenal of silver ware. Fork, Spoon, and a knife. Ahh yes a knife, just what I needed. As I was about to grab the knife and hide it among my clothes, I jumped and almost crawled out of my skin as I noticed that the other lady from the train with the med kit was sitting right next to me. How did she appear next to me without me noticing? She smiled an evil smile at me and put her hand on the back of my neck, and everything started going black again.
Then my cellphone rang, and it was my friend telling me that there’s an Lunar Eclipse out and I should go outside and see it.
Yes I know, very annoying, this was about to become the next Bond movie or something. Oh well.
I had a rather strange dream. One where I’m about to die, but before I do, I seemingly witness the end of the world as we know it.
I’m walking on a cobblestone street in the dead of the night. Street lamps glisten wetly off the stones of old buildings as they made clear to announce the echo of my footfalls to all who cared to listen. At first I think this was set in an old English town circa 1800’s, but no these were modern times, only an old village somewhere in Europe. I can smell the salty air of a sea nearby.
But none of this mattered for I was having heart problems. But much more serious than any time before, this was serious. I had the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that I was going to die. My heart began to beat out of control as if a little drummer boy had gone crazy with his sticks. I looked down on my shirt in the light of a city night and I could visibly see it pounding against tissue and bone. Fast fast fast fast stop… fast slow fast slow fast slow.
A thought occurred to me that I should find some medicine. I hadn’t any idea where to get some, but hurriedly made my way to a nearby neighborhood. I saw a house, seemingly empty, and broke through it’s back door. A dog began to bark and when I found it near the upstairs bathroom, it was asleep. It had probably been dreaming, much as I was. I quickly found the medicine cabinet behind the mirror in the bathroom and grabbed the bottle that I needed. I up-ended it’s contents and flushed it down with some water.
Just as I began to swallow, an enormous tremor shook the Earth herself and sent me sailing through the window. I landed hard on the grass and quickly recuperated. I looked towards the starry night and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Multi-colored patterns were seemingly cloaking the atmosphere with bright pin-points of lights, like bursting stars. What is this? I thought in my dream, perplexed. I made note that my heart problems were gone, and that I was now running towards the sea, along with everyone else from the town.
The patterns in the sky were colored similarly to the Northern Lights, but they were not ribbons of electrical discharge. They were something far more beautiful in what I could not explain.
I soon noticed that my father was running next to me. I had only seen him run twice in my entire life. “Dad! What’s going on? Why are we running towards the Sea?”
“I don’t know son, I think we’re about to find about though.” As he finished saying those words we reached the shore. My eyes were glued to the horizon.
The sea was calm, not a single wave broke it’s waters. It was like a polished mirror, and it reflected the galaxy. I could see every star and every planet that we know and didn’t know of on the horizon. And they were coming towards us. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. The multi-colored lights were intensifying and the bursts of light were getting brighter. Suddenly, I was weightless, floating with the others. The others were screaming, and I was laughing. I couldn’t find my father, nor anyone else I knew. Slowly I began to forget about everything else and I just stared towards our galaxy converging in on me. I saw Mars, in it’s entirety. It’s hills and valleys and craters. I turned to my right and I could see the Sun. It was gigantic and rather dimmer than I had remembered. I could see the plasma radiation surging out of it in waves and it developed dark spots very quickly, as if taken over by some cancer. It was also growing larger by the second, and I had the sinking feeling that we were traveling towards it. Everything was, the planets and the rest of our galaxy. Or were we headed towards the center of our galaxy? The thought of a black hole drifted across my mind.
Then everything exploded in techni-color and smells I had never smelled before. Bright light soon engulfed me as everything was ripped apart. I laughed with glee.
I awoke immediately to find Patches looking at me intently. She seemed to know what had happened. And. . . she almost seemed to smile.
Fleeing the mountain
Another dream I had last night had me going on a mountain path. . .

I was in a ’60’s model convertible car, couldn’t tell what kind really. I was driving towards a mountain that sat enormous, its very presence demanding attention. It seemed it would take all day to reach its slopes, but then at last my car’s nose began to point higher as I began to climb the mountain road.
The road itself seemed to impersonally cut right through a lush green forest, the thick old trees hugging it’s curves dangerously. At a few points, the foliage blotted out the sun, denying anyone or anything a single ray. My old car groaned as it navigated the sharp curves, protesting against any further progression onto this mountain, yet my foot remained steady on the gas pedal.
The wonderful sights and smells of the forest invaded my senses. Tree bark and moss gave an earthly, almost intoxicating feeling. Mother Earth had freshened herself up just for me, for my journey higher upon her ample bosom. At times the trees would open for a view of a glade that ran down the slopes. And it was not until I saw perhaps the third or fourth field of high grass, that I began to see the animals.
Of every species known to man, animals were leaving the heights of the mountain. I had to slow down, lest I began to strike the creatures with my car. Hundreds of snakes slithered across the road from deep within the forest. Maneuvering the heavy car around their serpentine bodies, I saw many other animals. At first I thought I should be afraid of them, but they were interested only in going down the mountain. Indeed, the most dangerous of creatures came and went. Lions and bobcats and wolves. The majestic wings of a few eagles swooped overhead even, gliding down with the wind. My car was moving at at a crawl now, as I wondered why I hadn’t seen any other humans on this curving pass.
As I climbed higher, I could start speeding up again, as fewer animals began to appear. Eventually, there were none to be seen among the green wall I was driving by. This made me wonder why all these animals had fled the mountain. What ghastly presence exists to cause everything to flee. I began to have my doubts of continuing further with my journey, but for reasons I did not know, I pushed on.
A small ray of light glinted on something metallic near the edge of the road and I immediately slowed to a stop. Among all the green and browns of the forest, this was an unusual object, I had to investigate. I wearily stepped out of my car and as I edged closer, I saw that it was a bicycle, abandoned by it’s owner. It’s frame was grotesquely twisted out of context, as if it’s rider had been in a horrible collision with a vehicle. I shuddered as I thought of the fate of the bicyclist and I turned to go back to my car. And as this was a dream, my car was gone. I turned around again and the bicycle was gone as well. I was completely and utterly alone on this winding mountain pass that seemed to stretch on forever.
And it was then, that I awoke, ripped from the dreamland to once again return to reality.
So what did this dream mean exactly? Why were all those animals fleeing the mountain? The mangled bicycle? So many questions.
Another night in dreams
I sure do love the meds I’m on, I’m dreaming like never before.
Last night was a cacophony of events and places again, only a few of which I remember. One in particualar was me as some sort of knight. The realism of the battle sequence would put “The 300″ to shame.

It was dark in the day, without a single hint of blue in the sky. The very ground was a marsh of mud and blood. My sword cut, stabbed and dismembered everything in its path. Often times it would get stuck in the bone of my foes and I would have to kick them to dislodge their disfigured bodies from my blade. I was death incarnate, the very one to deliver you to your place of choosing. . . as soon as I got done slicing you open. Shoulder to shoulder I was with my comrades, amazingly never once injuring them in my wild but surgical swinging of my sword. Blood and grime cover me from head to toe, my teeth showing in my continuous battle roar, my eyes filled with hate for the slime I dispatched before me. Many times my foe tried to strike me, but only miss, having already impaled them before their stroke was even completed. I was master of this battle.
shift
I’m lying on my back in a wide tent. My tent. My lieutenants are standing all around me. I feel much older. I look down and I’m bleeding profusely from my gut and several other places. Apparently, I was no longer master of the battlefield. My wounds cannot be healed. A man is before me with a gleaming blade, and I look at him with understanding, nodding my head. He raises the blade high. . .
shift
In this new dream I was in modern times, with a friend. I cannot
remember her name, as in the dream she did not have one. She was completely fictional, and the things we did together as well. We ran down streets and fields of fog, and tried to take pictures of each other with cheap cameras. I grabbed on to end of a chain link fence and because it was loose it swung me around to and fro. Then my alarm clock went off.

Transport System and death.
Last night was strange. I dreamt of two components which are very interesting.
I am in the Navy again (shudders), but in the future. On one particular base, theres a strange new transportation system which deals completely with these one man pods. These pods are put on rails and you get shot down the rail at high speeds, then you get to a transfer station where you are handed off to a nother rail. Think of a pinball machine. Sometimes you have to wait for a pod to become available, and when you get one, you promptly step inside, the small door closes behind you as you have a seat and when you press the button, off you go! Other than that button, the entire machine seems to have a mind of its own. Occasionally the rail system will sometimes just end and your shot through the air at a great velocity only to land inside another rail… these launches are guided by magnetic systems as to prevent any mishaps. But in my dream of course, I had a mishap, where I promptly fell out of the rail system and got dunked into a public pool. I got out of my pod and proceeded to swim out. I was wearing some sort of uniform which probably has something to do with the futuristic Navy. . .
So I had paused at writing this up until now and now I can’t remember the rest of my dream. ‘Till next time.

Lots of strange dreams
Ever since I started my new meds for my heart, I’ve had some pretty crazy dreams. Long drawn out dreams with colorful displays of events. I’ve realized that this because the medication lowers my heart rate significantly, and in so doing actually allows me to sleep a deeper and more restful night. Im going to try and start logging my dreams a bit more here so I can start getting a pattern again…

More death
It seems as though I’m constantly in the position of having dreams with much death invovled.
Last night was pretty interesting as I dreamed I was already on my camping trip with Briana up in the mountains.
It was late in the day, the twilight advancing quickly on us. We were cooking something over a fire for the evening, when we hear a roar behind us. Turning quickly we saw that a bear had stepped into our precence and it was roaring at us. With the swiftness in a dream, I ran towards the bear with my full tang hunting knife and jumped onto the bears back, quickly and deftly slitting its throat, then plunging the knife deep into the base of its skull. I rode the back of the bear during its dying thrashing. I screamed a victorious scream that echoed throughout the forrest. We then ate the bear.
Strange dream at best. Oh well.
Chasing the killer.
A cruiseship out in the middle of nowhere. Swells crash into the side of the ship and I enjoy the spray of the sea. Its relatively cool out. I try to enjoy myself, but I have a mission to complete. I’m to kill another assassin. An assassin like me. I spend days trying to find him on the ship but he eludes me, ever so carefully. If he knows I am after him, why doesn’t he kill me?
Frustration angers me and I double my efforts searching for him. The cruiseship is huge, and filled with people.
Then I do see him, finally, and he sees me, across the wooden deck by the swimming pool late at night. We have found one another.
In the blink of an eye he has gun drawn and trained on me, while I at the same time have already released three rounds in his direction. One of the rounds clips his ear and he cries out and ducks behind a stainless steel bar table. I run around the pool to finish him off when I suddenly find myself ducking behind a wall when his rounds rip through the air near my chest. (I have been shot at in real life in the Military, so my dreams are very vivid in these details) I hear him run away and disappear. And I very carefully make my way back to my quarters.
Jump
I’m riding on a bus in some foreign city and I see the killer get on at the next stop. He doesn’t see me as he walks past me to sit a few rows behind. I wait until the bus is moving again and I deftly spin around in my seat while pulling several throwing knives from my jacket sleeves and I let loose one, two and three of them right into the chest of my target. They plunge deep into his lungs with sickening thumps.
But, as this was a dream, he wasn’t quite dead yet and he threw his own knives at me. I had to duck back behind my seat and a couple of knives potruded through the cushions. Impossible! I though to myself. This is not how it was supposed to be.
And as I began to drift back into consciousness I thought to myself that next time I would aim for his head.
End
